Photography Advice: What camera should I buy?

This is a question I’m often asked by friends, family and clients, and it’s one for which there are many answers. My answer usually begins with “It depends”.

The most important thing you need to consider is what you’ll be using the camera for, and this is closely followed by your budget.

After you’ve decided these two factors you can quickly narrow down your search, and there’s a great article over at SLR Lounge that I think you’ll find helpful.

If you have any questions after reading the article I’m more than happy to help.

And finally, remember that a camera is just a tool: a Mont Blanc pen won’t make you the modern day Shakespeare, and better brushes won’t make you paint like Michelangelo.

Sure, some cameras are “better” than others, but there’s a lot more to creating great images than which tools you use.
